1935 Young Adult Ministry: Upcoming Gathering and Events

The 1935 Ministry here at The Grove continues to grow and find ways to connect young adults, and we are excited to see what all this fall has in store! If you didn’t know, we call it “1935” because all those roughly between the ages of 19 and 35 are welcome. While this is a large age gap with people from all different life stages, the hope is to build space for this generation to connect, build relationships, make memories, and grow together.
We have already begun meeting for the fall, but our entire fall schedule is now listed on our website at thegrovecov.church/1935. The next 1935 Night will be a special one on Saturday, September 5th, where the group will meet to Mosey Down Main Street together. As is the case with most of our communications, the best way to get the latest details for meeting locations and times is to be added to our GroupMe. To do that, please just speak to Pastor Chuck or Caleb or Audrey Cranford.
One of the new things we’re doing this fall in our 1935 Night gatherings is including a devotional time. Using the Bible Project videos about the books of the Bible, we will have a time to learn about a different book each week and discuss what we are learning together. No homework is involved, but we hope it will be an engaging time of conversation and transformation with friends!
Outside of our bi-weekly 1935 Nights, we have two bigger young adult events happening this fall. The first will be on Friday, October 30th, and details for what we are doing are still being worked on, so stay tuned! One thing I WILL say (to all those reading this that are NOT a part of the 1935 group): if you would like to get involved in a way that would be a blessing to these young adults at this event on October 30th, please let me (Pastor Chuck) know. Not trying to give anything away OR sound too cryptic, but what I’m dreaming up for this event may require a bit of help… though I can’t say more than that, so please let me know if you’re interested.
The second is our annual 1935 Christmas Dinner Party, which will be held on Sunday, December 20th in the Great Room. Again, more details to come on that, but please be sure to add these dates to your schedule, as these will be fun nights together that you won’t want to miss!
As always, we ask the church to please continue to pray for the young adults in our church this fall as they gather and grow as a community together. Pray that they will find The Grove to be more than just a place to worship, but a place to build friendships, to share life together, and to find love and support in their own journeys of faith.
