An Invitation to Pray

Each autumn, our pastors and directors step away from the
usual rhythms of ministry to pray, listen, and plan for the coming year. Over the years, we’ve invited you to pray alongside us—and time and again, we’ve seen those prayers answered.
Sometimes we return with a clear sense of new initiatives to pursue—such as LifeGroups, a new pastoral position, or the launch of the Care Team. At other times, we sense God leading us not to begin something new, but to faithfully develop and shepherd what is already in place so it becomes more deeply rooted in our culture and mission.
Deepening Our Touchstones
Over the past few years, we’ve been especially intentional about strengthening the three Touchstones that shape our life together: WELCOME, TRANSFORMATION, and PRESENCE.
Much of our attention has focused on the first two. Yet I sense that this ongoing work is leading us into new growth around PRESENCE—and what it means to “aim to be like Jesus in this world.” As we become a more welcoming community and grow in our commitment to spiritual formation, I believe we will bear new fruit in our community and see more people enter into a relationship
with Christ and his Kingdom.

Above all, our desire is to hear from God. As our pastors and directors gather on October 27–28, we invite you to pray with us and
for us.
Pray that we will listen well, discern God's direction clearly,
and follow faithfully wherever he leads.
