Beloved Women's Retreat Recap

2024-11-19| Kate Cogswell

“Fear not, I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1(ESV)

beloved.

God’s beloved.

This is who we are.

For the fourth year, we partnered with the women of Riverside Covenant Church to host the women’s retreat, to create space to connect as a community of women by investing in deeper relationships with God and each other and by understanding our value in Christ. It is a gift to serve on a team with women from both churches and to gather to worship God as the big “C” church. November 8-10, 2024, over 90 women gathered at Camp Tecumseh for our annual women’s retreat.

Our 2024 retreat, beloved, was filled with evidence and reminders of God’s deep love for each of us. Whether it was a word or phrase we heard that resonated on a deep level, the lyrics in a song, a good laugh, a good cry, Amy Seiffert’s teaching, the powerful testimonies given, a personal connection made with someone, or something else, we were reminded that we are each God’s beloved daughter.

Amy Seiffert joined us from Bowling Green, OH. She began Friday night with her whiteboard illustration that God says “you are mine – you are beloved”, and there is nothing we do or have done, think or feel, that can erase those truths.  Amy continued to share the unchangable love of God for each of us through deep, biblical teaching, laughter, memorable stories, and practical “tools”. Together we explored our belovedness through the themes of being named by the Father, trusting the Father, and resting in the Father.

There is much more we experienced and learned during beloved: seen. known. named. I encourage you to find someone who attended and ask them to share what they experienced at the retreat.

We pray we will continue to engage with practices and community that will help us increasingly receive God’s love and live more fully into life as his beloved daughter.
