Soar We Now Where Christ Has Led!

2026-3-22 | Meghan McClellan

Throughout Lent, we have walked the slow road toward the cross.

We have remembered our need for mercy. We have confessed what is broken. We have waited in hope.

For forty days, we have traced the story of Christ’s suffering — His obedience, His surrender, His great love poured out for us. And soon… we come to the morning that changes everything.

“Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!

Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!”

On Easter Sunday, we gather not in sorrow, but in triumph. Not in silence, but in song. Not in defeat, but in resurrection hope.

Scripture declares, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” (Luke 24:5–6)

This is the day our waiting gives way to joy. This is the day death is undone. This is the day we proclaim:

“Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!

Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!”

Because He lives, our sin is forgiven. Our shame is silenced. Our future is secure.

As we walk through Holy Week together, we prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter. Here are some ways to be engaged this next week:

Sunday, March 29th is Palm Sunday, where we celebrate with palm branches and the singing of “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna.”

Thursday, April 2nd is Maundy Thursday, with Come-And-Go Communion from 12–1pm and again from 5–6:30pm in the Sanctuary.

Friday, April 3rd is our Good Friday Tenebrae service at 7pm — a solemn evening of Scripture and song as we remember the cross.

And then — we gather in celebration.

Join us Easter Sunday, April 5th at 9am or 10:30am. We’ll enjoy fellowship and food at our Community Café (hosted by our youth in the Life Center from 8:45am-11am), and lift our voices in the Sanctuary with scripture, prayer, joy, and the glad song of the Church through the ages:

“Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!

Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!”

Come and rejoice.

Come and worship.

Come and behold the empty tomb.

Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia!
