WORSHIP WITH US THIS SUNDAY!! – 10:30 am in-person, on our Worship page, or on YouTube. We hope to see you there!
In late June into July 2026, 7 students and 5 leaders are getting ready to attend a weeklong trip to Orlando, Florida called the “Community Live-In.” For those that haven’t heard about these trips over the past few years, the CLI trips are formational trips that focus on teaching what it means to live, serve, and play in Christian community together. We’ll once again be living in a very LARGE house down in Orlando and serving alongside our sister church, Audubon Park Covenant Church, as we learn from various ministries and community-based service projects that their church is already partnering with.
Personally speaking, this trip has become one of my favorite things that we do as a youth group. The path for building healthy community requires a combination of time, proximity, investment and openness, all of which are at the core of what this experience is meant to be. And every time we have gone on one, it has been such a joy to watch the growth and faith formation that happens within all of us, not just the students and leaders but even how it affects our church community as a whole!
But, to do such a trip takes a lot of prep work and fundraising. In the fall, we had a very successful soup luncheon and dessert auction, which means that we feel that if our final few fundraisers are successful, we’ll be able to raise all the funds we need for this trip. And before I share what those are, I just want to remind you that while we DO take a day or two on these CLI trips to go do fun things like the theme parks, any cost for the “fun” days and park tickets are all include in the out-of-pocket costs for every student and leader. We only raise funds for what is needed for the flights, housing, food, transportation and anything needed for the service project days.
That said, our next fundraiser is starting this coming Sunday on March 1st and will continue throughout the month of March. This fundraiser will be a return of last years successful and fun “Envelope Board Fundraiser.” Out in the lobby on Sunday mornings, you will see a very large bulletin board that is covered in white envelopes numbered between 1 and 80. All you have to do is take one or more envelopes from the board, put a donation inside of the amount listed on the envelope, and submit it to the donation box or one of the students/leaders that will be there. It’s as easy as that! All donations are tax exempt if we have your information. And if all envelopes are taken, it will raise a significant amount of funds towards our final goal!
If that fundraiser is successful, then we will round out our fundraising efforts with one final push in late May when we bring back the Sponsored Car Wash Fundraiser. But I’ll give you more information on that as we get closer!
For now, I simply ask that all of us join together in praying for this whole journey. For the students, that God is making a way for them to go on this life-giving, formational experience… For the leaders, that God will provide us with the energy and the wisdom to lead well. For all the logistics and details to come together and for this trip to be a catalyst for all of us to grow further into the community that God desires us to be.

As always, thank you for your support and prayers! While you can find more information about the CLI trip and the fundraisers on our Connect page, don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you’d like to learn more about what we are doing in the high school ministry and for this trip.
